Kensei Maeshima (前島 絢晴, Maeshima Kensei) is a student at Ionodai High School and the main protagonist of Skate-Leading☆Stars.
Appearance[]
Kensei has messy red hair, grey eyes, and a slim build. He wears the Ionodai High School jacket with an orange and yellow t-shirt underneath, along with a pair of Ionodai High School track pants. He also wears a pair of tied, red and black sneakers.
Personality[]
Kensei is confident to the point of cockiness, said personality rendering him to be reckless and somewhat self-centered. He doesn't really care much about what others think of him, he just wants things to look cool. Kensei's recklessness causes him to suffer a humiliating loss to Reo Shinozaki, his (unrequited) rival, leading him to swear off figure skating at the young age of 11.
But once Kensei joined the Ionodai High School Skate Leading team alongside Hayato Sasugai, he changed bit by bit learning to respect his seniors and the value of teamwork.
Etymology[]
- The name Kensei means "brilliant fabric design, kimono design" (絢) (ken) and "clear weather" (晴) (sei).
- Kensei's surname Maeshima means "previous, before, earlier" (前) (mae) and "island" (島) (shima).
